Enrollment & Front Office Processing Glossary

  • 1:1 Facial Recognition Technology– The comparison of one applicant photo to another previously captured photo of the same applicant to determine if they match in order to reliably verify the applicant’s identity.
  • 1:1 Fingerprint Matching – The comparison of one applicant fingerprint to another previously captured fingerprint from the same applicant to determine if they match in order to reliably verify the applicant’s identity.
  • Automated image capture and applicant enrollment (face, finger, signature, data).
    • Facial image enrollment – High-resolution portrait capture of applicant during front office processing.
    • Fingerprint image enrollment – Automated, digital capture of applicant fingerprint or fingerprints during front office processing.
    • Iris enrollment – Automated, digital capture of applicant iris during front office processing.
  • Automated, Integrated Queuing – As part of an optimized workflow process, integrated queuing allows for the automation of front office workflow, thereby helping to ensure lines move faster.
  • Automated Knowledge Testing for Driver’s Licenses – Helps increase the speed and efficiency of applicant processing and save time and money by eliminating paper tests and the manpower it takes to administrate the tests. Tests are conducted on kiosks and are automatically tied to the applicant record and front office workflow.
  • Bio-Logon – Secures either the fixed or mobile capture stations with a finger biometric login device – ensuring only authorized personnel have access to issuance applications.
  • Facial Recognition – An automated biometric matching solution that collects and compares extracted features from a subject’s biometric data (face, finger, iris)and is used primarily to identify instances of potential fraud related to multiple identities. Provides tools for the management and investigation of data related to fraud.
  • Document Authentication – The application used to scan and reliably inspect proof-of-identity documents presented by the applicant to determine if they are genuine.
  • Document Scanning and Archiving – Document scanning and storage of proof-of-identity and front office documentation required of credential applicants. Data is then available for future reference or for investigative purposes.
  • Enrollment with Hiide® Tri-Modal Biometric Device – Portable iris enrollment for field operations.
  • Interim Credential – Used in central issuance workflows, interim credentials range from a simple receipt to a secure paper license which can serve as a driver credential and identification document during the time from office visit until the final credential is received by the applicant.
  • Mobile Enrollment – Image & demographic capture in a portable, self-powered unit specifically designed for remote, unconnected sites have little to no electric and IT infrastructure.
  • Road Skills Testing – Electronic forms on lightweight, portable tablet PCs to automate the current paper-based process for scoring driver skills tests, pre-trip inspections and recording road test infractions. Wireless technology is also used for real time communication of test data to a central database.
